The Client

This solution has been used for several clients, including an international event management platform and an American insurance agency. 

The Problem

Both clients were experiencing the common problem of having to pull data from multiple sources throughout Workday, manipulate it, and feed it back into the system. This is a process that had to be performed manually on a monthly basis and was not easily automatable because it involved the use of sensitive data from Workday HCM as well as Workday Financial Management. The clients’ legacy solution was to have employees manually pull the data from Workday on a monthly basis, manipulate the data in excel and then manually enter the results \into an enterprise interface builder (EIB) in order to feed it back into Workday. This process was time intensive and did not optimize utilization of client resources.

The Solution

The end to end  process could be completely automated through a custom boomerang integration, but this solution did not align with the needs of the clients due to time constraints, financial limits, and security concerns. Instead, Makse Group found a workable solution that met the unique needs of the clients.

Makse Group’s solution was to use custom Workday worksheets that auto-populate the appropriate data from several Workday modules, perform the necessary calculations, and automatically convert the results into an easily importable EIB. Keeping the data within the Workday ecosystem offers several benefits including the ability to receive a live data feed without having to manually download spreadsheets, avoidance of EIB error troubleshooting efforts, and enhanced ability to share sensitive data leveraging Workday’s security model.
