The Problem

The client had already implemented Workday, but was using a third-party cloud-based platform to help employees stay organized. They needed to transfer data from the Workday ecosystem to their third-party HCM solution, but there was no easy way to do this so the client was stuck transferring employee data manually from one system to another. 

More specifically, they needed to transfer data from Workday to their third-party HCM solution every time there was a new hire, termination, or promotion. While this is a pretty straightforward process, building a custom third-party HCM integration through Workday or one of the larger consulting firms would have cost more time and money than the investment was worth. Makse Group built a simple but powerful outbound Workday integration that automatically pulled data from Workday fields, converted them from Workday’s native data format of XML into JSON, and sent them to the client’s third-party HCM system.

Now, the client no longer has to waste their employees’ valuable time manually transferring HCM data from one system to another, reducing costs and risk of error. But that’s not all! The client quickly found many new uses for this versatile integration, using it to transfer a wide range of additional data from Workday to other systems, greatly increasing productivity across the whole organization.
