Saving Steps and Avoiding Clutter
While Workday continues to streamline administrative functions, at the end of the day your company depends on people being able to actually use it with ease. Like many other SaaS platforms, the easiest way to improve adoption and avoid frustration is often rooted in reducing friction and optimizing how information is shared. Let’s take a look at some recent features that you may have missed:
-
The new field, Downtime Service URL, can be utilized on the external career sites during scheduled maintenance windows or ‘downtime’. By being able to enter a specific message when the site is down, it reduces the need for communication to candidates. The Downtime URL can be configured under Tenant Setup - System.
-
A new Default Inbox Filter prompt is available so that when you create an inbox filter, and set it as the default, the filter is applied every time when you log in. Declutter your inbox, and work on the business process tasks that are most important to your day-to-day work. This is available via the Change Preferences task under Workflow Preferences.
-
We all know that managing custom reports can sometimes get out of hand. Workday now provides a way for report administrators to Mass Delete Custom Reports based on data source, last run date, owner, report name, or report type. This is a task that is automatically available. This feature helps to reduce the number of legacy or unused reports so that you can provide your users with the best data possible.
